I print on a 19th century platen press named Young Lady Whistler (she used to run with a mean whistle before we cleaned her up). I can print from your design, or work together with you to design something great. I’m just as comfortable printing with my small collection of antique metal type or with polymer plates made from a digital design.
Printing projects might include things like:
- Poetry chapbooks
- Cassette tape liners
- Business cards
- Personalized stationery, thank you cards, etc
I can also make custom boxes and bindings. I love solving the puzzles that each new project brings along, so I hope you’ll let me know about your wildest ideas. For an estimate, email me (Rebecca) at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me about your project.
Here’s a sampling of projects I’ve worked on in the past, with a variety of clients from event planners to insurance salesmen to poets (but mostly poets💖):
Teddy was having a fundraising event for a cello project (OK look at his website & listen to his music & everything, he’s wonderful & his website is amazing), and he asked me to make some postcards he could give out. I came up with this design, evoking the psychedelic sound waves that emanate from … Continue reading Artist fundraising postcards
I created these paper gems for an event planner, Relevé Unlimited (the lovely event photos below are theirs). We also mixed a few paper airplanes in there. I wrote more about these on the blog. We chose these colors to match the company’s logo (they were for a corporate event), but I think they would be … Continue reading Paper Gem Decorations
Maura came to me with this awesome idea for a poetry chapbook she had written. She wanted a cover that the reader could interact with. By spinning the wheel, different drawings appear in the windows, showing all of the different things Maura’s interested in: pretty much everything! Technical details: Letterpress covers with hand-set lead type … Continue reading Poetry chapbook with a moving “volvelle” wheel cover
The author’s friend approached me about printing this little book to celebrate Jason’s first published story. We printed a small edition that could be given as gifts to his friends and family after the story appeared in a magazine. What a wonderful idea and a thoughtful present! Technical Details: Laser-printed cover and text pages. Flyleaf is … Continue reading Short Story Pamphlet
I printed this set of business cards, product tags, and notecards from Dani’s own design. She laid out the designs on Illustrator and sent me the files. Then I got some plates made, inked up the press….. and voilà! Maybe there were a few more steps in there 😉 I like printing from old-school metal … Continue reading Business cards, notecards, & tags
